NZ adventure tour company launches Chinese language ziplining
New Zealand eco-tourism company Ziptrek Ecotours will start a new ziplining tour exclusively for mandarin-speaking tourists starting in February.
It will be named ‘Feng Huang Hua Suo Zhi Lu’ which translates as ‘Phoenix Zipline Journey’ and will be led by a mandarin speaking Ziptrek guide.
In a first for New Zealand, The Queenstown-based company will offer the tour from February 2 and is available for booking every weekday.
There has been a doubling of Chinese visitors taking up ziplining, according to Ziptrek Ecotours director Trent Yeo.
"I’ve travelled to China four or five times and I’ve noticed the amazing change in enthusiasm for adventure and activity in New Zealand," he said.
"Ziplining is a wonderful introduction to the adventure tourism market which is rapidly growing in diversity and scale. Participation in everything on offer is something that tourism operators will notice".
Ziptrek took the decision to employ a mandarin speaker and launch Chinese only tours due to direct feedback from previous guests and booking agents, Yeo said.
It has also produced mandarin language brochures, a mobile site, and safety information.
