On the Beach unveils booking trends
Booking data from On the Beach has identified a drop in holiday prices in Greek islands Kos and Kefalonia this summer.
Prices for summer 2018 are 11% lower in Kos and 8% down in Kefalonia compared to last summer.
Research also revealed holidays to both Croatia and Zante are at least 5% cheaper this year.
Spain remains the most popular destinations, with Tenerife, Costa Blanca, Lanzarote and Ibiza leading the way.
Greece is the second most popular summer sun destination and Turkey the third.
But the Italian islands of Sicily and Sardinia are the fastest growing destinations amongst Brits, grabbing first and second sport respectively, followed by Halkidiki.
Marketing director Alan Harding said: "Once again Spain is dominating the market but other destinations such as Greece, Portugal and Malta are proving very popular this year. Our booking data also shows that Turkey is back and we expect this growth in popularity to continue. Greece is a very attractive option for those looking for great value, with holidays in several islands cheaper this summer compared to last."
