Online travelers looking for “personalized” information
Travelers online are looking for information straight from the source but also the ability to experience a destination and personalize their trip, says Jennifer Barbee, president of USDM.net
“Travelers are seeking detailed, current and trustworthy information regarding the destination and what it has to offer,” she said.
USDM.net recently purchased the rights of OfficialTravelGuide.com, a travel portal of more than 1,250 destinations. from the International Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus.
OfficialTravelGuide.com will continue to be the exclusive portal for IACVB and its destination marketing organization (DMO) members will continue to be fully represented, according to Ms Barbee.
As part of the ownership change over, DMOS will receive direct linked traffic to their Web sites from the portal, as well as access to new marketing opportunities such as USDM.Net’s database of over 120 million travelers.
“We don’t anticipate making any significant changes in our operation of OfficialTravelGUide.com, but we do intend to focus on the continued growth of the site’s international travel section,” said Ms Barbee.
