Only one travel firm impresses millennials, YouGov survey finds
Airbnb was the only travel company to make it into the top 10 of most positively talked about brands among millennials.
Video streaming service Netflix came top of the YouGov survey for the second consecutive year, followed by music streaming service Spotify and cheap clothes retailer Primark.
Airbnb was ranked ninth in the charts, which places brands according to how much positive buzz has been generated amongst 18 to 34 year olds.
Millennials were asked which brands they had recently talked about with friends and family, either in person or on social media, and which brands they’d heard something positive about in the previous two weeks.
The top 10 was dominated by tech firms, with Apple and Facebook completing the top five.
"As we would expect among this particular age group, other tech giants such as Apple, Spotify and PlayStation feature prominently in our rankings," said the report’s author Michael Stacey. "However, there is a strong presence from ‘affordable’ brands – those which offer convenience at a competitive price point, such as Primark, McDonald’s, Airbnb and IKEA."
