ONYX Hospitality to bring YOO hotels to Asia
Thailand’s ONYX Hospitality Group has sealed a partnership deal with UK-based YOO Hotels & Resorts to bring two YOO brands to Asia.
The first YOO hotels will be developed for island hotspots Phuket and Bali, and both slated to open sometime in 2019.
The partnership hopes to develop properties right across the Asia Pacific region in major key and resort destinations, comprising the YOO Collection and Yoo2 hotel brands.
"As we continue expanding the reach of the ONYX Hospitality Group portfolio and entering new market segments and new destinations, we are excited to be in partnership with YOO Hotels & Resorts to grow our footprint in the lifestyle hotels segment. We look forward to a mutual exchange of unique strengths, including YOO’s design-led philosophy and our regional management expertise," said Douglas Martell, CEO of ONYX Hospitality Group.
"YOO Hotels and Resorts and ONYX Hospitality Group have created the perfect platform for the growth of the YOO brands across Asia Pacific," says YOO Group chairman John Hitchcox.
YOO was created by property developer Hitchcox along with celebrated designer Philippe Starck.
YOO Collection targets the luxury market while Yoo2 is an upscale lifestyle brand that takes influences from each local destination.
