Oprah named as ship godmother
Queen of the US chat show Oprah Winfrey has been named as godmother to Holland America Line’s newest ship Nieuw Statendam.
The talk show host will set sail on a three-day ‘Girls’ Getaway’ cruise onboard the new ship on January 30 next year.
Organised in conjunction with her publication, O, The Oprah Magazine, the cruise will include special presentations and events.
The Girls’ Getaway cruise sails from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and spends a day at Half Moon Cay, Holland America Line’s idyllic private island in the Bahamas.
Guests will have the opportunity to attend one of three live ‘Conversations with Oprah’.
