Orion goes exotic
Operator of Australia’s luxury adventure cruise vessel, the 4,000 gross tonnage, 106-passenger Orion has announced new ports for its 2006/07 programme.
Orion has already pioneered cruising to East Timor and will now pioneer again with visits to remote destinations in Papua New Guinea, including the Sepik River, Indonesia and the Solomon Islands.
Orion is breaking the mould of the traditional larger cruise ship destinations by offering new, exciting and uncharted locations and itineraries, in keeping with the demand of its market segments, many accessible only because of the compact size of the vessel.
The vessel includes a Paspaley pearl boutique which may potentially reflect the investment by the leading pearl producing family in the company.
