Oyo teams up with Ctrip to boost brand reach in China
Indian hospitality unicorn Oyo has inked a new partnership agreement with China’s online travel titan Ctrip, aiming to maintain its rapid progress in China.
Oyo now claims it is the second largest hotel chain in China with some 10,000 Oyo hotels in 320 cities, in just 18 months since entering the market.
The tie-up will involve collaboration across branding, online-to-offline services integration, traffic exchange and data sharing.
"Our multi-brand strategy enables us to meet the needs of every type of traveller and this partnership with Ctrip gives us an opportunity to extend our offerings to millions of Chinese travellers looking for standardised, quality offerings," said Oyo China chief operating officer Sam Shih.
"As China’s second-largest hotel chain, we are determined to soldier on in our mission of creating quality living spaces and the exceptional reach that Ctrip enjoys will steer us closer to travellers."
Oyo says the partnership meets the common goal of aggressively expanding into secondary and smaller cities in China.
The companies have not publically shared any financial details of the partnership.
