Page turning for online Leger brochures
Leger Holidays is adopted page turning technology to allow its brochures to be scrolled online.
The coach operator claims to have become the first to adopt new viewing options on www.onlinetravelbrochures.com (OTB) to upgrade five brochures from a standard presentation format to advanced page-turning technology.
The Christmas Market, Disneyland Paris, European Experiences and Festive Breaks brochures all feature gradual page-turning to create a familiar feel and a zoom and scroll ability. Its Battlefield Tours will also allow users to book direct from the brochure.
The move follows agreements between OTB and Cshop, Intellimag and Vcab which means the site can now offer five viewing options with different levels of enhanced interaction including flash, sound, video and direct links.
A tiered pricing structure for the new technology starts at £2.50 per page. Standard presentation is still available from £1 per page.
Leger Holidays web development manager Michael Rhodes said: “We have been aware of page-turning technology for some time but resisted movements in that direction because of the high costs involved.
“Once the option became available to advance our online brochures at an affordable price we moved immediately as it makes for a better viewing experience that is both easy-to-use, familiar and compelling.
“Since adding our brochures to our own site and OTB in 2005 we have seen excellent online brochure viewing figures coupled with a decrease in requests for hard-copy brochures. We have again moved forward with the technology and expect to make more savings in this area while increasing bookings.”
