Palace Resorts checks out of Apple Leisure Group partnership
Palace Resorts has ended its commercial partnership with Apple Leisure Group.
Effective immediately, Palace Resorts and Le Blanc Spa Resort brands will no longer be sold through ALG-owned channels including Apple Vacations, Travel Impressions, and Funjet Vacations.
Instead, the ‘business decision’ will see it strengthen partnerships with tour operators such as GOGO Worldwide Vacations, Delta Vacations, and Pleasant Holidays.
It says all bookings confirmed as of August 7 will be honored.
ALG also will work to make the transition as seamless as possible for travel advisors and their customers.
"Occasionally, our model can cause angst or uncertainty with a supplier because it is very unique," said Ray Snisky, ALG Vacations chief commercial officer.
"The reality is that the great majority of all of the business of the ALG vacation brands goes to hotel partners outside of AMResorts. That always has been, and remains true today,"
It is not entirely unexpected given AMResorts is a direct competitor of Palace across Mexico and the Caribbean.
Other companies which have ended partnerships for similar reasons include Sandals and Playa Hotels & Resorts.
