Paris airports cancel over 100 flights as workers strike
Airport workers at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Orly walked off the job Thursday morning causing over 100 flight cancellations. The wildcat strike is a protest over low wages.
The CGT union is demanding a €300 pay hike.
To ‘limit traffic disruption,’ CDG cancelled about 100 flights.
There is a combined workforce shortfall of about 4,000 employees at Paris’ two main airports, Aeroport de Paris Chief Executive Augustin de Romanet said.
The shortage is especially acute for maintenance technicians and baggage handlers.
