Passenger accused of in-flight groping faces caning
A passenger who allegedly groped a Singapore Airlines flight attendant faces up to two years in jail, a fine and a possible caning if found guilty.
The 35-year-old Ukrainian national, who is based in Singapore, is accused of touching the woman's buttocks and breasts on a flight from Moscow to Singapore.
The aircraft was in Thai airspace when the alleged incidents took place. According to the Straits Times, a pre-trial conference has been scheduled in Singapore for Friday and if the man is found guilty he could be given a prison sentence, fined and caned or given any combination of punishments.
