Passenger tests positive mid-flight, isolates for hours in plane bathroom
A passenger self-isolated in a plane’s bathroom for five hours after learning mid-flights she was positive for Covid.
Marisa Fotieo, from Michigan, took a test while onboard the Chicago-Reykjavik flight when after feeling ill.
After noting a positive test, she moved to the bathroom and spent the rest of the flight their to protect other passengers.
"I just took my rapid test and I brought it into the bathroom, and within what felt like two seconds there was… a positive test," she told NBC
"There’s 150 people on the flight, and my biggest fear was giving it to them," she said.
During the bathroom ‘quarantine’ Fotieo was given food and drink and documented the experience on TikTok.
Fotieo later had to isolate again on arrival in Iceland.

This infuriates me!! I have NO sympathy for this woman. She knew well BEFORE she ever left home for the airport that she was ill. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, she may have had the test kit for use prior to her return to the U.S. per CDC guidelines. However, most people have those IN their checked in luggage. She had a kit WITH her on the plane, because she was ALREADY ILL. Her desire to get to Iceland for whatever purpose combined with her lack of concern for everyone's health safety whom she has exposed PRIOR to boarding the plane, is a grand show of her true character. And staying in a teeny bathroom for 5 hours while TikTok-ing herself as a public Covid martyr is pure BS looking for sympathy and accolades! Another "LOOK AT ME" 15 minutes of fame. I. HAVE. NO. SYMPATHY.
