Pennsylvania convention center to be largest in northeast

Saturday, 17 Oct, 2005 0

The Pennsylvania Convention Center has received $16 million in state funds for an expansion.

The new construction will nearly double the size of the center, allowing it to offer the largest square footage of continuous space in the northeast.

The center will have 514,000 square feet. Two ballrooms will have 93,000 square feet with 87 meeting rooms.

The expanded facility will be able to host two conventions at once, or very large trade shows.

The center is adjacent to the Loews Philadelphia Hotel.
