Phu Quoc island to open for vaccinated tourists
Vietnam’s Phu Quoc island plans to reopen to vaccinated foreign visitors in late November. Charter flights will be welcomed for vaccinated passengers who will need to show vaccine certificates and negative Covid-19 tests.
Authorities are targeting flights from countries with ‘a high safety record.’ An earlier October reopening date was shelved due to low vaccination rate. It is hoping for up to 5,000 arrivals by Q1 of 2021.
Vietnam is also hoping to open tourist hotspots Ha Long Bay and Hoi An in the coming months.
