Plane diverted after attempted cockpit breach
An American Airlines flight headed to Washington, D.C. was diverted to Kansas City after an ‘erratic’ passenger attempted to breach the cockpit. The passenger was subdued by crew and other passengers and then handed over to law enforcement.
Mouaz Moustafa, a passenger on the plane, described it as a serious disruptive incident. Moustafa, said a flight attendant had to bash the man over the head with a coffee pot to help subdue him. The Federal Aviation Administration logged nearly 6,000 unruly passenger incidents in2021, which was by far the worst year ever for disruptive behavior.
