Pleasant Holidays latest to boycott Trump Hotels
Pleasant Holidays is the latest in an increasingly long line of travel industry names distancing themselves from Trump International Hotels.
Presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s disparaging comments about Mexican immigrants last month have caused a number of boycotts at Trump owned businesses, including Apple Vacations which said it would find an alternative venue for the 2015 Global Apple Gala which had been planned for Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago.
Pleasant Holidays said it will stop selling packages for Trump hotels in Honolulu, Las Vegas and Panama until it "receives greater clarity on statements by Donald Trump about Mexican immigrants."
The tour operator said all existing bookings will be honoured but will not accept any new bookings at Trump hotels for the foreseeable future, presumably until Donald Trump retracts comments which described Mexican immigrants as drug dealers and rapists.
The Professional Golfers Association (PGA) has also ditched plans for the 2015 Grand Slam of Golf at the Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles.
