P&O offers spectacular four week Tahiti cruise
P&O Cruises is telling Australians to book early for an unforgettable four-week journey to Tahiti in 2008 on its new Australia based superliner, Pacific Dawn.
The 70,000-ton Pacific Dawn will visit 14 beautiful South Pacific destinations at a leisurely pace befitting the region’s hallmark idyllic lifestyle, departing Sydney on June 3, 2008.
The 28-night ‘The Pearls of Tahiti’ cruise will visit French Polynesia, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji and the Cook Islands, providing the perfect winter escape, as well as a holiday to remember for life, with the voyage representing the first time in almost 25 years that P&O Cruises has visited Tahiti, roundtrip from Sydney.
Pacific Dawn offers more choice in cabins, including Australia’s most affordable balcony cabins and a choice of spacious balcony suites, more choice in dining, so passengers can choose when, where and with whom they wish to dine each evening and more choice in entertainment, enabling guests to make the most of their holiday.
Four stunning French Polynesian ports, including Bora Bora, Moorea and Papeete in Tahiti are included and Pacific Dawn will also visit Savu Savu, Levuka, Suva and Dravuni Island in Fiji, giving passengers an opportunity to experience the country’s trademark warm hospitality.
Passengers will continue their journey to Pago Pago in American Samoa, a town captured in the writings of Somerset Maugham, which features a stunning deep water harbour hemmed by soaring mountains. From there the ship sails to Apia in Samoa, a paradise which Robert Louis Stevenson called home and which featured in Robert Michener’s famous “Tales of the South Pacific”.
Other ports on Pacific Dawn’s itinerary include the Cook Islands’ Rarotonga, a high volcanic island featuring spectacular lush vegetation and beautiful beaches, and visits to Nuku’Alofa and Vavu’a in Tonga, home to the oldest and only remaining monarchy in Polynesia.
Overnight stays at two Tahitian ports, Raiatea and Papeete, will also provide extra time to absorb the atmosphere of the destination.
