Posadas Mexico adds a hotel a month

Grupo Posadas last year opened a new hotel virtually every month to the point where it has 84 hotels throughout Mexico, says Luis Sanchez, manager, International Promotions.

“Most of them are business class hotels,” he said.

The company’s global development plan includes more than 30 more openings.

With 16,000 rooms in 84 hotels, Grupo Posadas is the largest hotel operator in Mexico and Latin America.

Their latest opening late last year was the Fiesta Americana Grand Aqua in Cancun, Mexico. The property features eight swimming pools, suites with butler service and a restaurant by Mexican culinary doyenne, Patricia Quintana.

The beachfront Aqua hotel has 371 rooms that face the Caribbean and have balconies. The 16,145 square-foot spa offers outdoor Pilates classes, yoga and a steam room modeled after ancient Mexican sweat lodges.

The chain pays 10% commissions to agents and at times offers higher rates, said Mr Sanchez.
