President Obama heads to Europe
President Barack Obama will travel to Europe from March 31 through April 5, the White House said, a trip devoted to the global financial crisis and security issues.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Obama will visit the U.K., France, Germany and the Czech Republic.
In the U.K., the president will attend the Group of 20 summit. That gathering is focused on crafting a new regulatory framework in response to the financial meltdown.
After the London summit, Obama will attend the NATO summit in Baden-Baden and Kehl, Germany, and in Strasbourg, France. Later, he will participate in the European Union-U.S. summit in Prague.
