Prices are falling along with the snow

Another cold snap is bringing yet more snow to the Alps, just in time for Easter. Here are some discounted breaks for the last big holiday of the ski season:

  • Powder White has knocked £400pp off a seven-night catered chalet holiday at The Napoli, a three-bed property in Verbier where 40cms of snow is forecast over the next nine days. The price for departures on March 23 is £399pp (£350 for children). The whole chalet is available on a self-catering basis for £2,155.
  • The operator has also knocked £300pp off the Chalet Fitzroy in Courchevel (which is expecting 30cms of snow), bringing the cost of a week’s fully catered stay down to £499pp (£449 for children), for departures on March 23. On March 31, it is offering seven nights at the Chalet Fritz in St Anton for £499pp (£449 for children), down from £899pp. Here a whopping 55cm of snow is expected before Easter.
  • Ski Total is offering Chalet Hotel Hermann in Sölden for £499pp for seven nights from March 24, including  flights from Gatwick, transfers, and catered accommodation. Sister company Esprit is offering a family holiday in the French resort of Les Get at the Chalet Monet for £2,275 for two adults and two children under 12, departing on March 31.
  • Supertravel Ski is offering a seven-night break to Courchevel during Supertravel Ski Gourmet Week from £1,199 per person (a saving of £200), based on 10 sharing. Available for departure on March 24, the price includes accommodation at Chalet Eboulis on a chalet-board basis. During the week, French chef Franck Pontais will be cooking at a different chalet every night, as well as conducting master classes and lessons in the afternoons.   
  • VIP SKI is offering free lift passes for the 3 Valleys, one of the most expensive and extensive ski areas in France, for guests spending the Easter holidays at the family-friendly Chalet Mariefleur in Meribel. Prices start at £1,239pp for the week beginning April 7.
  • Ski Verbier has knocked an incredible £6,000 off a luxury family break at the Chalet Treize Etoiles II, which now costs £12,950 for seven days of sheer indulgence for up to 10 people, from March 24. The price includes breakfast, afternoon tea and a four-course dinner on six nights plus complimentary childcare, ski guiding on the first morning and a resort driving service.
  • From the start of the Easter Weekend (28 March) until the end of the season, the Bellevue Alpine Lodge in Vallorcine, near Chamonix, is offering a special price for guests of €35pppnfor bed and breakfast (minimum three nights) or for those heading off into the mountains to ski tour or explore further, there is the offer of the ‘formule randonneur’ which is €45 per person, per night for bed and breakfast and a packed lunch (minimum two nights).
