Princess Cruises faces new Covid-19 lawsuit

The Grand Princess is facing another lawsuit, this time a class action suit featuring more than 60 passengers.

It accuses Carnival Corporation and Princess of negligence for failing to adequately sanitize the ship and claims it did not introduce screening or testing on current and new passengers who boarded the ship in February.

The complaint was filed in a Los Angeles federal court

Notably, the company did not inform guests that previous passengers had Covid-19 symptoms and people still aboard the ship may have been exposed to the virus.

The suit claims passengers were not informed of the Covid-19 cases for about two weeks.

At that time they were told of a ‘small cluster of Covid-19 cases in Northern California’ connected to passengers on the previous sailing, the suit says.

Another lawsuit was filed in April by a Grand Princess guest alleging similar violations which led to the death of her husband.

"Princess Cruises has been sensitive to the difficulties the Covid-19 outbreak has caused to our guests and crew. Our response throughout this process has focused on the well-being of our guests and crew within the parameters dictated to us by the government agencies involved," Carnival Corp said in a statement.
