Princess Cruises names new ship
Princess Cruises has named its next new vessel Emerald Princess.
The 116,00-ton Grand-class vessel is due to enter service in 2007 as sister ship to Caribbean Princess and Crown Princess.
The vessel, which is to be constructed at Italy’s Fincantieri shipyard, will have almost 900 cabins with private balconies.
Princess currently operates a fleet of 14 vessels, one of which – Regal Princess – is to transfer to Ocean Village at the end of next year.
Itineraries for Emerald Princess’s inaugural season will be announced soon, according to the company.
The ship will include an outside film screen, multiple dining and entertainment options, a spa and fitness centre, an extensive children’s and teenager’s centre and a wedding chapel.
