Professional bloggers, airport bomb threats and missing penalties

The sun is finally shining and the spice girls have reformed, what a week…

PRs and bloggers can make sure they are working in tune a bit more, following the launch of Bloggabase.com , a new service that allows closer contact between the two. Bloggers using the service will be able to register their field of expertise, be it travel, cooking or just about anything else, to ensure they only receive information that’s relevant to them.

The online Femfresh debacle of last week seems to have died down but not before a spoof ‘apology letter’ made the rounds on social media… a few rude words, so we won’t share here – nothing a bit of a Google won’t find for you though if you are interested.

Judgement has been reserved on the appeal of Paul Chambers – the man found guilty of posting a comment on Twitter threatening to blow up an airport. Tweeting extraordinaire Stephen Fry, who was at the High Court hearing, said it was "very important" for freedom of speech. Paul Chambers, 27, from Doncaster, who now lives in Northern Ireland, was convicted in May 2011 for sending "menacing electronic communication". He claimed it was a joke and wants his conviction and sentence quashed. Read the full story here.

Visit England was praised as one of the best uses of twitter from a marketing point of view for its witty twitter feed during the England vs. Italy football game last weekend.
