Profits up at P&O Princess
P&O Princess Cruises has reported an increase in profits for the second quarter of the year, despite a slight fall in sales.
Pre-tax profits for the three months to the end of June increased by 5% to $98.9 million. Sales during the same period fell from $647.6 to $638.1million.
Chief executive Peter Ratcliffe said: “Despite the disruption to our booking cycle from the events of 11 September, we have had another good quarter. Price reductions have been less than we forecast and we have been able to absorb these reductions through continued unit cost efficiencies.”
