Qantas launching another Points Plane for Boeing 747 farewell

Wednesday, 27 Aug, 2019 0

Qantas has announced a second ‘Points Plane’ offering frequent fliers the chance to say farewell to one of its last Boeing 747s.

The flight will take off at Sydney for Los Angeles on October 13, 2019, which marks the final commercial flight for the Boeing 747-400.

Qantas says the plane has flown the equivalent of 20,000 trips since its induction in the fleet in 2000.

The Points Plane is reserved for Qantas Frequent Flyer members who may book Business, Premium Economy and Economy seats at the standard Qantas Points redemption rate for the LAX route.

It is exclusive for members for the first week of sale and then tickets can be purchased as commercial or Points Plus Pay tickets.

Seats start at 41,900 Qantas Points for economy.

Qantas’ remaining six Boeing 747-400ER aircraft are being phased out from the fleet during 2020.
