Qantas set to launch Paris flights
Aussie flag carrier Qantas plans to launch long haul nonstop Paris flights.
It is aiming for a mid-July 2024 launch ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Paris route will depart from Perth, WA and operate year-round.
For travelers in eastern Australia, Qantas will initially offer four flights per week from Sydney to Perth to Paris on Boeing Dreanliner jets.
The inaugural Paris flight is slated for July 12, 2024.
“This route has been on our wish list for a while, and we think customers will be as pleased as we are to see it go on sale today,” said new Qantas CEO Vanessa Hudson.
“Our direct flights to London and Rome have been hugely popular, and Paris is the next most-requested destination.”
Qantas plans to offer open jaw ticketing with flights to Paris and the option of returning from either London or Rome.
Qantas’s tie up with Air France offers onward codeshare flights connections from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The airline says it will be working with Tourism WA on campaigns to boost inbound tourism from France.
