Qatar Airways selects Starlink for inflight Wi-Fi
Qatar Airways has tapped Elon Musk’s Starlink to powered its inflight Wi-fi connectivity.
Starlink delivers high-speed, low-latency internet.
The airline says it is the largest yet to use Starlink for inflight Wi-Fi.
Starlink has delivered connectivity to airlines including Hawaiian Airlines, airBaltic, and ZIPAIR.
The airline will roll out complimentary internet connectivity experience onboard specific aircraft and routes which it says will deliver speeds of up to 350 Megabits per second.
Connectivity will be simple one-click access.
Qatar Airways and Starlink are currently in the pre-launch phase of the rollout.
Qatar Airways Group CEO. Akbar Al Baker, said: “We look forward to our passengers benefitting from this state-of-the-art addition to the in-flight experience.”
“Passengers travelling between over 150 destinations will be able to stay connected with the most advance high-speed internet service from space,” said SpaceX’s VP of Starlink Commercial Sales, Jonathan Hofeller.
