Raffles to launch in Jakarta

SINGAPORE – Raffles Hotels & Resorts has added Jakarta, to its growing list of world destinations with an agreement to open a luxury hotel located in the heart of the city’s ‘Golden Triangle’.

Raffles Jakarta, with 180 rooms and suites, plus 80 Raffles Residences for private ownership, will be part of Ciputra World Jakarta, a new development comprising a shopping mall for premium retail boutiques, office buildings, apartments and an art museum.

It is scheduled to open in 2011.

The hotel will also include a ballroom which occupies 2,500 square metres, and four meeting rooms that offer conference and meeting facilities for corporate retreats.

RafflesAmrita Spa, a signature component of Raffles hotels and resorts around the world, will feature in the new development.

Diana Ee-Tan, managing director, Raffles Hotels & Resorts said, “The World Travel and Tourism Council has ranked Indonesia’s Travel & Tourism economy among the world’s top 25 countries in terms of growth forecast and Jakarta, being the gateway to Indonesia, is well positioned to take advantage of this trend.”
