Rex reduces fuel surcharge – who’s next?
BRISBANE – TavelMole will be watching closely to see which airlines follow the example of Aussie rural carrier Regional Express (Rex) by cutting fuel surcharges in response to the fall in world’s oil prices.
Rex has cut the fuel surcharge on its airfares by A$4 per sector.
The change is effective from Friday this week and will cut the total surcharge per sector to A$40, from A$44.
“Rex will continue to monitor the price of fuel and respond with appropriate changes to the fuel surcharge as and when necessary,” said Warrick Lodge, the airline’s general manager of network strategy and sales.
