Richard Carrick to speak at AITO conference
Former Going Places boss Richard Carrick is one of the speakers lined up for this week’s AITO conference in Istanbul.
Carrick is now a consultant and non-executive director, consultant and investor in a range of different holiday companies and helps private equity houses to evaluate travel businesses.
He will be joined by the following other speakers:

The three-day conference is being held at the Hotel Park Bosphorus.
Sponsored by the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry, Intra Travel and Turkish Airlines, it has been given the theme of ‘The Future isn’t what it used to be!’
"These vital speaker sessions will allow delegates to return to their offices with practical ideas to implement straight away, helping them to stay ahead of the game," said AITO chairman Derek Moore.
"This year’s theme will cover a variety of hot topics such as the current state of the global and UK economy, the ‘Googlification’ of travel, how to deliver a brand-defining customer experience and how travel companies can compete in such a fast changing future."
