flydubai, the Dubai-based carrier, celebrated on December 12, the launch of its inaugural service to Vilnius. The date marked the start of direct flights between Dubai and the capital of Lithuania. The new route reinforces flydubai’s growing footprint in Central and Eastern Europe and opens an important new gateway for travel, tourism and trade.

With the start of operations to Vilnius, flydubai becomes the first UAE carrier to offer nonstop connectivity between Dubai and Lithuania, giving customers more choice and convenience for business and leisure travel. The route operates three times per week, providing seamless links to Dubai’s global aviation hub.

A day later, on December 13, flydubai inaugurated its first direct service to Riga, the capital of Latvia. Like in Vilnius, Dubai hybrid carrier proposes a three-times-weekly service between Dubai International (DXB) and Riga Airport (RIX). The new flights are expected to boost tourism flows in both directions and support growing economic ties between the UAE and Latvia.

Recent other European routes include the launch of nonstop services to Chișinău in Moldova as well as Iași in Romania. In 2025, flydubai expanded its footprint in Europe with 35 destinations across 20 countries.

Customers traveling on the new route will enjoy flydubai’s elevated Business Class product, featuring spacious lie-flat seats, an internationally-inspired culinary offering and a more personalized, comfortable travel experience.

Economy Class customers can also benefit from complimentary immersive inflight entertainment and delicious meals, reflecting flydubai’s ongoing investment in elevating the overall customer journey.
