‘Rivals queuing up to join us,’ claims easyCruise

EasyCruise has received 250 applications for the position of chief executive – with many candidates applying from rival cruise lines, the no frills cruise operator has claimed.

It declined to reveal names or companies but said its “public search” for a CEO was progressing well.

A statement said: “Approximately 250 applications were received with many representing credible candidates from major cruise lines.

“That person will be responsible for selecting their own management team to drive forward easyCruise’s expansion through the commissioning of new cruise ships, contracting existing operators as franchisees and establishing a Miami base.”

Former Costa Cruises managing director Paul Ellerby is currently the interim sales and marketing director.
