Riviera Maya tour firm cuts ties with Hard Rock after hotel employee death
A Riviera Maya tour company has cut business ties with the Hard Rock Hotel after a security guard was arrested and accused of murdering a co-worker at the hotel.
Riviera Maya Tours announced it has stopping making reservations for stays at the hotel over long standing security issues.
In a social media post the tour company said ‘the decision to cut relations with Hard Rock Riviera Maya and other branches is because of themes that arose over time with our guests.’
The latest incident ‘broke the camel’s back,’ it said, the Riviera Maya News reported.
The body of a 21-year old female security guard was found on the hotel property on 28 December after being reported missing several days earlier.
A male work colleague was arrested on suspicion of murder.
