Riviera River Cruises to sell exclusively through travel advisors
Riviera River Cruises is doubling down on its ties with North American travel advisors.
The river cruise brand said it will accept North American bookings exclusively through travel agent partners from January 1, 2020.
The company says it has seen big sales growth through travel agency bookings, and will focus on this.
Riviera said direct booking requests will be referred to the client’s own travel advisor or if they do not have one, the nearest travel agency partner working with Riviera.
"Riviera is a relatively new player in North America, and we are focusing all of our marketing on the trade," said Marilyn Conroy, executive vice president of sales and marketing in North America.
"Agents are our distribution system, and we want to support the agents who support us."
The company said it will be able to assist advisors to book flights and pre- and post-cruise hotels across Europe starting from January 1.
Riviera also recently said it would expand the hours of operation for its reservation line in order to better serve travel advisors based on the west coast and Canada.
