Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD launches standalone tours and activities platform

Monday, 23 Mar, 2017 0
Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd is going beyond its core cruise product to become an online seller of tours and activities.

It has launched GoBe, which will offer thousands of tours and experiences in nearly 100 countries.

Inventory can be searched by various filters including destination and interest and there is  a ‘cruise-friendly’ tab which shows activities departing close to ports of call for Royal Caribbean and numerous other cruise lines.

"We’re thrilled to officially open GoBe to every type of traveler, from hotel guests and staycationers to business travelers with a long layover," said GoBe managing director Billy Campbell.

"We believe many destinations around the world have been underserved."

The main categories are group tours, private excursions and exclusive online ‘Travel Creations’ tailor made tours.

Helicopter sightseeing, Alaskan kayaking expeditions, culinary classes and architectural tours are just some of the options.

Coming later is a review function allowing guests to rate providers.

Shore excursions have traditionally been a big earner for cruise lines but increasingly, cruisers are going it alone by booking independently or via third party websites.
