Royal Caribbean scraps Israel season on Odyssey of the Seas
Royal Caribbean has ‘changed course’ and now won’t deploy Odyssey of the Seas in Haifa, Israel.
The new ship had planned to sail out of Haifa on Mediterranean cruises to the Greek Islands and Cyprus.
Ongoing tensions and regional security concerns have sunk its plans to sail out of Haifa from early June.
"Due to the unrest in Israel and the region, Odyssey has not been able to complete the preparations required," the company said.
"This was a challenging decision to make, but we must remain nimble in the current environment."
Instead the ship will spend its inaugural season in Florida.
The line hasn’t given any definite details of Odyssey’s new cruises out of Florida yet.
