Ryanair warns it will close Cork and Shannon bases next month if travel restrictions aren’t lifted
Ryanair has warned staff it might have to close its bases at Shannon and Cork airports unless the Irish government eases its quarantine restrictions on people entering the country from overseas by September.
CEO Eddie Wilson wrote a memo to crew based at the two airports, which was seen by TheJournal.ie. It said that if restrictions on passengers arriving from the EU aren’t eased, it will have to close both Shannon and Cork for the winter.
The airline said the closures would be temporary, but as a result all pilots and crew will have to take unpaid leave from the end of October. Read more.
