SAA passengers can now enjoy e ticketing

Wednesday, 06 Aug, 2007 0

South African Airways has announced that it has introduced electronic ticketing for all flights originating in Sydney and Perth.

Thevan Krishna, SAA’s Regional Manager for Australia and New Zealand, said that the airline had introduced e-tickets in South Africa early in 2007 and has now decided to do the same in other markets, including Australia.

“Passengers are now quite used to electronic ticketing and it saves a lot of time and administration costs to apply the policy wherever we fly,” Thevan said this week.

“In addition, e-ticketing prevents the loss of tickets which has caused inconvenience to both our passengers and SAA in the past.”

“We have seen a big rise in customers using the internet to plan their travel, so e-ticketing is a logical extension of that process.”

“Our passengers can obtain up to date flight information through www.flysaa.com and confirm the most up-to-date details of their trip.

SAA has also put in place self check-in facilities at Johannesburg for all domestic (South African) destinations.

“There is no doubt that the airline industry is moving towards complete electronic ticketing and check-in around the world.”  “Our latest move is part of that process,” Thevan said.
