Sabre connects agents with app marketplace
The Sabre Travel Network is claiming the world’s first B2B online application store for the travel industry.
The Sabre Red App Centre online marketplace has been created to connect travel buyers, including travel agencies, travel management companies and leisure operators, with application providers from around the world.
More than 60 ‘Red Apps’ are available, with the number expected to grow significantly in the coming months, the company said.
The apps will be available in the agent’s Sabre Red Workspace, which is used to shop, book and manage travel.
Apps available include Quick Trip Quote to help price travel estimates, Event Finder for planning travel around events,
Flight Explorer Express Edition for flight tracking, a carbon emissions calculator and a to do list to help agents keep track of action items such as customer calls, emails and deadlines.
Several third-party developers are working with Sabre to bring their applications to the global marketplace.
Sabre will host the first Sabre Red Appys awards in June during its Developer Conference and Technology and Marketing University in Las Vegas.
The awards will highlight the most creative and effective apps. From a group of 10 demonstrators, a panel of judges will determine the top app.
Start-up, emerging and established companies are being invited to apply to showcase their solutions.
