Sabre extends e-ticketing for agents
Agents can now issue e-tickets for El Al, Icelandair and Kenya Airways through Sabre.
The GDS has extended its electronic ticketing capability to include the three airlines and now means that 37 airlines are offering UK e-ticketing capabilities with Sabre.
Reet Wiseman, Sabre Travel Network’s vice-president for the UK and Ireland, predicted that the use of e-tickets would grow steadily towards the end of 2007 – IATA’s target date for the end of paper ticketing.
He said: “Sabre was first to market and today offers e-ticketing on more carriers from more points of sale than any other GDS. We continue to introduce new carriers to help travel agencies reduce costs associated with issuing and delivering paper tickets, and to assist airlines reduce their overall distribution costs.”
