Saga the latest to support single travellers
Saga Holidays has become the latest operator to champion single travellers by offering an extensive range of supplement-free holidays in its new brochure.
Last month, Thomson said it was axing single supplements to its most popular destinations, for a trial period.
Saga, which offers holidays for those aged 50 and over, has a new brochure featuring over 30 tours and more than 200 stays throughout the world without single supplements.
All of Saga’s UK holidays, over four fifths of the breaks in its new Europe and the Mediterranean brochure and almost half of the long haul holidays in its Travellers’ World brochure offer single rooms at no extra cost.
There are also several hotel stays and tours in the USA, where there has been most resistance in the past to reducing costs for single travellers.
Saga Holidays managing director Chris Simmonds said: “Single travellers make up a significant proportion of our customers and we have always campaigned for single rooms at no extra supplement. We’re committed to meeting the needs of single travellers and to providing a wide range of supplement-free holidays in exciting destinations throughout the world.”
