Schumacher in critical condition after ski accident
Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher is in a “critical condition” after a skiing accident in the French ski resort of Meribel.
The seven-time champion was skiing off piste with his son when the accident happened. He was wearing a helmet.
According to the BBC, the 44-year-old German “was suffering a serious brain trauma with coma on his arrival” at a hospital in Grenoble.
It is believed he fell and hit his head against a rock.
According to resort officials, he was still conscious when he was helped by two ski patrollers who requested helicopter evacuation to the nearby valley town of Moutiers.
He was then moved to the bigger hospital at Grenoble. His wife Corinna and children are with him.
