Scottish self-catering goes online

Monday, 13 Oct, 2005 0

Late availability booking capability has been introduced with a new website for the Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers (ASSC).

The www.assc.co.uk site allows the association’s 550 members to log details of accommodation available at short notice to match the needs of visitors making last minute travel plans to Scotland.

A ‘late availability’ option on main menu on the homepage gives users accommodation options, many available from within days of the web search.

ASSC chairman David Smythe said: “Visitors often assume that self-catering accommodation needs to be booked far in advance and may not consider looking for a ‘home from home’ if they are making holiday arrangements close to their travel date.

“Our website now offers this advantage to those who prefer a holiday where they can enjoy the freedom of having their own door key but who may have left the decision on where to stay to the last minute.

“The great advantage of our website is that we have members operating across Scotland, many up to five-star level. Membership of the ASSC already means there is a commitment to quality, comfort and customer satisfaction.”
