SeaWorld Entertainment eliminating 125 jobs

Sunday, 09 Aug, 2018 0

Despite just announcing one the best post-Blackfish era financial results, SeaWorld Entertainment is cutting 125 jobs.

It comes after posting positive gains in both attendance and revenue at its parks.

During the company’s earnings report on Monday interim CEO John Reilly said the company had identified $50 million of ‘additional cost reductions.’

Jobs will be eliminated at theme parks and its corporate offices in Orlando.

The company also cut 350 jobs last year.

"For those employees who will be impacted by this restructure, we are offering severance benefits and transition assistance. We remain committed to providing our guests with inspiring experiences that matter and to continuing the world-class care for all our animals," a SeaWorld statement said.

The company employs about 15,000 full and part time workers.
