Second eTourism forum announced

Monday, 17 Feb, 2003 0

The date of the second eTourism Futures Forum has been announced, and it is expected to be attended by academics and industry professionals.

The forum is being held on 31 March and 1 April at the Centre for eTourism Research at the University of Surrey. The theme is “Exploring the Information Communication Technologies Revolution and Visioning the Future for the Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Industries.”

Industry speakers include Expedia Europe and Asia Pacific managing director, Simon Breakwell, TTI general manager Mick Mott, Summit Hotels managing director, Richard Lewis, and ETC head of technology, Andrew Duff.

The event is organised by the course director of MSc in eTourism, Dr Dimitrios Buhalis (pictured). He said: “Leading industry figures and academics introduce a topic and lead the discussion. The informality and interactivity due to the small number of participants allowed at the Forum makes the difference.”

A maximum of 40 participants are allowed to take part, and the deadline for registration is 28 February.
