Second Millennium hotel for Thailand
SINGAPORE – Thailand will have a new Millennium hotel, the five star Millennium Sukhumvit Bangkok, which is slated to open next month.
Located on Asoke Road (Sukhumvit Soi 21) the hotel is within easy access to the business district, financial institutions and some of the city’s best entertainment spots.
Designed for business and leisure travellers its 325 “salient” rooms and suites are fitted with amenities to meet their individual needs -from long bath and separate shower, electronic safe to LCD satellite TV and Internet access.
Other facilities include a business centre, swimming pool, lifestyle spa (The Antidote) and fitness centre and a golf putting “green”.
The hotel is also ideal for the meetings market as its meeting and banquet facilities total over 1,300sqm. Its main ballroom, measuring 500sqm, is able to accommodate up to 500 people theatre-style or 350 people banquet-style. It is also fitted full-length ceiling to floor windows that will maximise the use of natural light.
Millennium Sukhumvit Bangkok is a gourmet’s paradise with its six restaurants and bars that offer authentic Japanese, Italian, Spanish Tapas, Indian, Cantonese and Thai specialities.
The hotel is managed by M&C Hotels and owned by Thailand-based Fena Estate Company Limited. A joint venture between Srichawla Family (FICO Group) and City Hotels Pte Ltd (a wholly-owned subsidiary of M&C Hotels), each company owns a 50 per cent interest in the joint venture.
Kwek Leng Beng, Executive Chairman of the Hong Leong Group Singapore and Chairman of M&C Hotels, said the presence of Millennium Sukhumvit Bangkok in a key destination like Thailand would reinforce the Millennium brand as a provider of elegant and luxury accommodation.
Michael Sengol, M&C Hotels CEO, added the new hotel in Bangkok would complement the other five star Thai property, the Millennium Resort Patong in Phuket, which is part of the giant Phuket Jungceylon Project. This resort is also scheduled to open in October. “With the anticipated increase in visitor arrivals to Thailand, we look forward to maximising the potential of these unique properties.”
