September shaping up to be great springtime in Perisher

Thursday, 20 Aug, 2007 0

With this season’s above average snowfalls, September is shaping up to be a superb time to be in Perisher Blue and here are 10 reasons why things are looking so appealing for this September:-

1. Early snowfalls

means more snow on the ground for longer.
272cm of snow has fallen in the resort since the opening weekend on 9 June, so there is a great base already set across the resort, making for excellent spring conditions.

2. Springtime conditions.

Skiing or snowboarding in the springtime can be the most fun you can have in the snow, as the cold bite of winter passes revealing more frequent blue-sky days, sunshine and softer, forgiving and often more enjoyable snow conditions.

3. Super Springtime Accommodation Specials

Weekend Getaway: Get 2 nights’ accommodation, 2 breakfasts, FREE dinner and a 2-day Mountain Pass at The Station Resort, Jindabyne from just $370 per person. Minimum 2-share. Available now until the end of the season. Call 1300 369 909 for further details.

Mid-Week Special: Stay for 5 nights, get FREE breakfasts and dinners at The Station Resort, Jindabyne and a 5-day Mountain Pass from just $513 per person. This is 10% OFF the normal mid-week special! Available now until the end of the season.

4. Spring Season Pass.

A special discounted Spring Season Pass will be available, allowing riders of all standards to take advantage of the great spring conditions. A Spring Pass (available from 26 August) costs just $626 for Adults and $344 for Children, allowing unlimited riding until the season’s end.

5. Spring Carnival festivities in Perisher Blue.

Spring Carnival hits town from 9 – 23 September. After making the most of springtime skiing and snowboarding, enjoy leisurely afternoons taking in the assortment of indoor and outdoor entertainment including live music, fun activities for the kids, art exhibitions, spectacular events, guided tours, cultural activities, fireworks and much more. Confirmed gigs for this year’s Carnival include Jamie Robbie Reyne (son of James Reyne), Jordan Millar & The Question, The Tennants, Marshall and the Fro, Three Quarter Hazel, Casual Projects, Cass Eager, Johnny G & the E-Types all performing on the stage on Front Valley during the Carnival. Best of all, most are at no extra cost to your existing Mountain Pass.

6. Spring Carnival Special.

Enjoy the best that spring has to offer with a 5-Day Spring Carnival Mountain Pass: Adult: $299*, Child: $172*.
*Conditions apply: 5-day Adult and Child rate applies when booked in conjunction with any 5-day accommodation package. Valid from September 9 to season end.

7. Exciting events to check out.

September begins with one of the biggest and most spectacular events of the season, the Boost Mobile Sno Sho, presented by Samsung on Saturday 1 September 2007, attracting some of Australia’s best snowboarders as well as some global superstars.

8. Pub-to-Pub Classic.

Come help Perisher Blue celebrate spring in style by entering into the Pub- to-Pub Classic. An institution in Perisher Blue, the Pub-to-Pub is now in it’s the 25th Anniversary year. To be held on Thursday 6 September this great fun event is open to anyone with a thirst for adventure. Fancy dress cross-country ski from Smiggin Holes to Perisher Valley and back again, taking in some liquid refreshment at some of the resort’s best hotels.

9. Off-Peak Fun.

Springtime can often see the best snowfalls of the season! What’s more, you can get great discounts in retail stores, food and beverage outlets on top of the great deals available on accommodation and passes. Even better, there are fewer crowds on the slopes, so lift lines are non-existent and the runs are wide and open!

10. Get a great goggle tan!

Impress your friends when you return home with your racoon eyes tan. You’ll be the envy of your friends when they see that you’ve been to Perisher Blue. Gives you bragging rights for at least two weeks!
