Sharm cancellations dent easyJet November figures
Cancellations of Sharm el Sheikh flights dented easyJet’s November passenger figures but the airline still reported a 9% rise in traffic.
The airline reported 378 cancellations in November 2015 compared to 16 in November 2014.
It said Sharm el-Sheikh accounted for 176 of the total with the majority of remaining cancellations due to adverse weather conditions earlier in the month.
But despite this, easyJet’s November passenger numbers grew from 4.4 million in 2014 to 4.8 million.
Load factor for the month rose 0.9 percentage points to 90.3%.
Rolling 12 month passenger numbers climbed 6.8% to 69.6 million, while rolling load factor was up by one percentage point to 91.8%.
