Shawn Johnson gets in to bed with IHG
Olympic gold medalist and "Dancing With The Stars" contestant Shawn Johnson joins an estimated 20,000 people across the globe today to take part in the IHG’s (InterContinental Hotels Group) World’s Biggest Bed Jump in celebration of the industry’s richest and ‘Biggest Free Nights’ offer. For over a 16-hour time span, thousands of people in New York, Shanghai, Paris and London will jump on four giant beds to celebrate the five million free room nights up for grabs and set the record for the World’s Biggest Bed Jump.
"I’m thrilled to be a part of the World’s Biggest Bed Jump and encourage people around the world to have fun jumping on the bed for the launch of IHG’s’ Biggest Free Nights’ offer," said Johnson.
Olympic gymnasts and trampolinists will kick off each Bed Jump as they commence, on the same day, across the globe. Featured athletes include:
Bryant Park, New York, USA: Shawn Johnson, 2008 Olympic women’s balance beam gold medalist and individual all-round silver medalist
Century Square, Shanghai, China: Jiang Yi Qi, the 2008 Trampoline World Cup, women’s synchronized champion
La Place de la Defense, Paris, France: Marina Ducroux, the 2007 French women’s trampoline champion and David Martin, four time French trampoline champion

"With our ‘Biggest Free Nights’ Offer, we have nearly five million free nights available in over 4,000 hotels across 100 countries and seven brands, including InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express," said Tom Seddon, IHG’s Chief Marketing Officer. "To celebrate the promotion we’re inviting people to come and rediscover the fun and excitement of bed jumping and certainly to put a big smile on their faces."
Guests can earn a free night by registering for the promotion at www.getafreenight.com and staying two nights at any InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites or Candlewood Suites around the world between May 4 and July 3, 2009.
